Blended learning insures leadership success
from John Hersey International
John Hersey is committed to helping clients get the most out of his contagious leadership content. Creating Contagious Leadership is not a one-time conversation or event. Rather, it requires being in an ongoing leadership conversation. Keeping the conversation alive and delivering content through various forms and methods of communication is critical to learning and development. John Hersey International has developed a process through which every client may avail themselves of this on-going contagious leadership conversation before, during and after a presentation, as a Value Added Service (VAS are included in John’s keynote fee).
Before the presentation:
Set up 3-6 interviews with key participants. John will incorporate data, experiences and specific phraseology which will close the gap between your company and John’s expertise. Also, interviews nurture positive word of mouth and expectations. (VAS)
Publish a summary article in the association, company’s or division’s newsletter on what the presentation will cover. If there is no newsletter, then email a summary. We will provide an appropriate, customized article. (VAS)
Pick several people who John can ‘spotlight’ from the platform. This creates a profound impact on your group. (VAS)
If a specific theme/logo is being used, communicate that to John’s company and it will be incorporated, when possible. (VAS)
Schedule permitting, John will arrive early to be part of a reception and/or business meetings preceding his presentation. John will incorporate appropriate names, stories and material into his presentation creating a seamless experience. (VAS)
Time permitting John will send a hand-written introductory welcome note to some attendees of the meeting or conference. (VAS)
During the presentation:
John will make the time to allow attendees to have their pictures taken with him. This creates excitement and can be used as a follow up message. Pictures help stimulate recall, an important facet of learning. (VAS)
Permit clients to arrange to have the his presentation videotaped and use the entire video or excerpts at follow up gatherings and/or send the video to remote employees who could not attend the event. (VAS)
Hand out a key ideas list as people leave the event. John’s company will create the flyer so it reflects the theme and purpose of the event as well as capture several salient points. (VAS)
In some cases, a question & answer session is not only appropriate but essential to make sure the ideas are properly incorporated into the corporate culture. Depending on the size of the group this could happen at the end of the event or as a separate gathering adjacent to the main presentation, time and agenda permitting. (Schedule permitting, VAS)
A key executive session immediately following John’s presentation is an effective way to identify and isolate issues. John will help with suggestions on incorporating his leadership advice to meet these challenges. (Schedule permitting,VAS).
John will deliver a break-out session punctuating his keynote address. (Schedule permitting, (VAS).
Following up the presentation:
Routinely, John will follow-up a keynote speech with one or two teleseminars designed to continue the learning and/or go deeper on the issues discussed during the meeting. (VAS)
Ongoing leadership advice to the senior executive team is a great way to follow up and ensure the key points from John’s presentation are being incorporated throughout the organization.
As a general practice John records each presentation. He will create a private page where every attendee may go to listen to or download the mp3 recording of his presentation to share with their team members that were unable to attend. (VAS)
John’s office will also write a column(s) for your company newsletter reviewing the key points of his presentation and company successes. (VAS)
When John’s office staff is present during the presentation they will take candid shots of the audience members and will make them available along with a quick important phrase from the presentation so they may be emailed to the attendees. John’s office will give you the key phrases. (VAS)
Periodically email the audience members one of John’s leadership articles that appear in various publications. This is a great reminder of the program and serves as an effective way to continue the learning and keep people in the conversation. (VAS)
John has designed a follow up piece to compliment his presentations. For instance, a scorecard for Creating Contagious Leadership measurement worksheet or a tip booklet for Extraordinary Ways to Involve your Customers. (VAS)
