“Questioning the mind does not leave us passive and disempowered. In fact, the opposite. Without believing the painful beliefs we have held about mother, father, sister, brother, children, friend, co-workers, life, we experience our own true selves, and that is the ultimate power unleashed.”
~BYRON KATIE

Years ago John and I were coached to not live into the conversations that we have created about a situation or family. This is how it goes….you see someone at the gym, let’s say Betty, and Betty doesn’t smile at you or greet you in any way. We then create a story that Betty is a snob and has just given you a clear sign that you don’t measure up. Because you are hurt or annoyed, you then go into your day a little ticked off, driving to work talking to yourself. A friend blows their horn and you don’t notice them, a light turns red and you barely notice that, cursing under your breath about traffic and your lousy commute. Do you get what is happening here? You, all by yourself, have created a story that Betty looked down at you and you have allowed it to take over your day. WHY? Betty just didn’t have her contacts in.

Check our Steve Chandler’s blog which always inspires me http://www.imindshift.com/
to read stories from a different perspective and for great quotes.
